Review: London Bound (Londen Lovers #3) by Amy Daws

Title: London Bound
Author: Amy Daws
Series: London Lovers Series
Genre: contemporary romance, new adult
***After falling in love with "us" in the first two installments of the London Lovers Series, now...it's Leslie's turn in this spicy series stand alone.***

When Leslie Lincoln, a spunky, red-headed American, suffers an awkward moment with an arousingly-sexy British man—she thinks her life can't get any more pathetic.

She's done with men.
She doesn't need them.
She especially doesn't need their muscular thighs.
No siree, she's going to forget all about the brooding, complicated, and seductive "Theo" who captivated her on the dance floor of a London nightclub.

Keep telling yourself that, Lez.....

Immersing herself into a new type of romantic cleanse, Leslie thinks she'll never lay eyes on Theo again. But somehow, he's managed to bulldoze his way back in—her cheetah-print onesie pajamas be damned.

He wants more.
She wants to run.
But he can’t seem to let her go.

Both of them have a past—and neither want to share.

How can love possibly survive in darkness?

FLO'S REVIEW

London Bound by Amy Daws
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 **superman** STARS

“Crushed with love?”
“Crushed with love.”
“Sounds badass,” I smirk and he chuckles, pulling me into him for a kiss.
“Sounds perfect.”

She did it again. Amy Daws and her London Lovers are fastly becoming some of my favourite reads. Emotion, humour, beautiful love stories and London. What's not to like?

London Bound is the third book in the London Lovers series and tells the story of Leslie and Theo. It can be read as a standalone, but to really appreciate all the characters and get lost in their world I would suggest reading in order. You can thank me later.

Let's talk story...

“Holy tits on a bull, I just climaxed…on a stranger’s leg!”

It all starts with a dance...an eventful dance. ;) See quote above.

There is always that one moment a couple really gets my attention. The first time Theo and Leslie met sure was a memorable start to a seriously amazing relationship. Theo sees Leslie across a dance floor, rather determined he makes his way over. There is definitely some attraction/lust at first sight. They dance and things start to get a little heated...fast. Leslie is so embarrassed about basically dry humping a stranger she does everything she can to stay far away from Theo after that - or at least she tries.

Cut to six months later. Her best friend Finley is getting married and Leslie is in a total slump. Hung up on Theo who is not that much of a stranger anymore. She is dead set on staying out of relationships and as a result she is just all around unhappy. Her reasons for that are explained later and they are valid...just FYI. Anyway, Frank has a plan to set her straight. 'Frank’s Seven-Day Cleanse 2 Happiness.' Seven steps, including making out with a girl to get Leslie out of her boy and relationship funk. Hilarity ensues. And of course Theo lands right in the middle of her self-discovery expedition.

“I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. Wanting Theo, not wanting Theo. I’m completely beside myself trying to figure out how to live this life without any type of love. And then this bruiser of a man pummels in so quickly, I can hardly breathe.”

This book has the perfect balance between laugh out loud humour and soul crushing pain. Leslie and Theo both have serious issues in their past they never really dealt with and their budding relationship forces some of those to the surface.

I absolutely adored them together and on their own. Leslie is a little quirky and very strong minded. Theo is such a sweetheart and he has so much patience for Leslie, it really is a superpower. Not to mention he looks like Clark Kent.

Why the 4.5 rating? Nothing in particular, just a little nuance since I liked A Broke Us and particularly Not The One a little bit better.

Overall I'm really impressed with Ms. Daws ability to play with words and developing plots that click into each other over the course of more than one book. Since I already read the book that takes place after this one (Not the One) I had a bit of a full circle experience. Seeing some characters I already knew and how they first stepped into this universe - like Hayden and Rey for example. Not to mention there are always the recurring favourites like Frank. He is so much more than comic relief and I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm craving a book to find out more about this flamboyant man.

Of course Leslie and Frank's friendship is romcom gold. I mean they met in a pornshop. Really the characters make this series. GO READ the book to find out more. *wink wink*

Well, I'm finally ready for Hayden's book. Bring it on Ms. Daws.
