When twenty-four-year-old Felicity Harper is dragged to a sugar party, an event where wealthy men and women seek “companionship,” she never expects this one simple decision to drastically change her whole life.
Her past is nothing but broken dreams and heartache. Her present is detached and dull. And her future? Well, before meeting Theodore Darcy, the famed film director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment, she would have expected more of the same. Love is just a fantasy and she wants no part of it—even if she can’t deny the undeniable attraction between the two of them.
So their arrangement is simple: sex with no strings attached. But as their intimacy becomes more powerful, so do Felicity’s demons. Can Theo really shoulder her past and his own? And could Felicity even let him?

5 **mind blowing** STARS
“We'll hurt each other and be better for it.”
Full disclosure. I'm a huge fan of Ms. McAvoy's work and I usually rate her books with 5 Stars, but Sugar Baby Beautiful was a new level of awesome for me. The story is spellbinding and thought provoking. I didn't see half of it coming and I just simply loved being lost in this book.
Let's talk story...
“She was the gift that kept on giving, and I was eager to see how loud she could moan.”
Felicity Harper has a hard time making ends meet. She has three jobs and when she is not working she is at home reading, or watching movies with her best friends Cleo and Mark.
One day these two manage to get her out of the house to join a sugar party. A place for rich people to find companionship, in most cases that ends up in exchange for a few material or monetary favours. Felicity on the other hand just wants sex. But when she gets there it is all a bit overwhelming and she hides, running straight into a piano...
and HIM.
Theodore Darcy is a very handsome director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment. Also, a billionaire. But please don't hold it against him. This man is hands down the most down to earth rich guy I have met in written form.
From the first moments he lays eyes on Felicity he is enthralled by her beauty and her talent. Because yes, she plays the piano like a little god. He pursues her, she gives in and eventually they make a deal. Sex and companionship for a finite period of time. No strings attached.
“Witty, rebellious, sexy, and wants nothing from me but sex. Either I'm hallucinating, or you're lying to yourself.”“Third option... I'm really horny.”
This is what the book is all about...on the surface.
Don't get me wrong, the superficial story is beautiful, so very hot and it sucks you in in no time. They are a fun couple, have excellent banter and are very much equal in strength. They are also are very layered and interesting as characters. Especially Felicity gets revealed one step at a time and what you see is very fascinating, if not a little confusing as well.
But then something happens. A big twist. And when I say that, I really want you to be prepared to have your whole world standing on its head within a seconds notice. I was already in love before, but after that I was a gonner. It honestly felt reading a whole different book.
“Life isn't a movie, and kissing in the rain can come with a few setbacks.”
I think one of the most important things if you contemplate reading this book is not to get spoiled. Don't read the reviews that tell you everything and under no circumstances skip to the end and see if there is a HEA.
Sugar Baby Beautiful is a standalone read (novella coming by the end of the year), told from both main character's POV and even though that allows you to see a bigger picture it only shows you one side of the coin... until it doesn't.
Am I being cryptic enough to pique your interest? I hope I am. I would honestly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read that holds more in the cards than is written in the blurb. And I think fans of Ms. McAvoy's writing will not be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.
