Review: Reckless by Skye Jordan

A couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous, Lexi LaCroix’s image means everything. But crossing paths with a sexier-than-sin, bad-boy biker makes Lexi realize how much living she’s sacrificed for her success and one touch is all it takes to threaten her carefully choreographed life. When that touch fills far more than just Lexi’s physical needs, she finds herself torn between the career she needs and the bad-boy she craves.

Jax Chamberlin gave up the superficial life of acting for the thrill of running his own stunt company years ago. But a recent betrayal proves he’s still too close to the limelight to find a woman who doesn’t plan to use him as a stepping-stone to success. When the charming and mysterious Lexi offers him a totally anonymous hook-up during an out of town trip, Jax accepts. Only Lexi is more sextacular than charming, and Jax wants more.

But Lexi’s got a major hang-up over his renegade lifestyle, and Jax isn’t willing to change his ways. Especially not when he discovers who she really is. Because if she finds out his connections could catapult her to the top of her career, he’s afraid the fantasy woman he’s falling for might just end up like all the other gold-diggers. And this time, it’s not just his bad-boy reputation at risk, but his heart, too.

MY REVIEW

Reckless by Skye Jordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5+ I'm so happy I could cry STARS

This was by far the most fun I had reading all year. I love, love, love this books. I don't know why some things just click with me and others don't, but Reckless was a hit in the bullseye. No regrets. Not only are Jax and Lexi a match made in sexual chemistry heaven but that author has some skill and she sure knows how to write some mind numbing flirt as well as sex scenes. I’m still blushing.

“Whoa. This flirtation just jumped to a whole new level. I think I'm running a fever.”

Honestly, as far as meet-cutes and tangling two beautiful people together goes...this was as original as they come. And if I'm wrong and you have by any chance read something like this before...feel free to tell me all about it. I want more.

“I like the fiery, fast sex so passionate your vision blurs.
I like wild, frantic, have-to-have you sex that burns you alive.
I like deep, driving sex where sweat drips off my chin, rolls down your spine, and tickles the dip between your ass cheeks.”

Do I have your attention yet? Good, let's meet some pretty people.

Lexi LaCroix

Ms. LaCroix is a very independent, intelligent and creative person. She owns her own business and is very proud of the things she has accomplished despite her poor upbringing.

Today she is a designer for the rich and famous. She has her own high end wedding dress boutique and is about to enter into a potentially lucrative partnership with a New Yorker Designer Label.

Being in such a position often comes with a few personal sacrifices. Staying in the public eye usually entails cultivating a certain reputation and Lexi is very aware of how she should behave and what kinds of people she should not be associated with.

For example, the good looking bad boy she meets at the airport would be a certain no go, right?

“This was the kind of man she craved – a rough-around-the-edges, blue-collar, hard-loving man. A few tattoos, a dark background, confidence in the bedroom … or the bed of a truck … or on the back of a motorcycle.”

Well, who could blame her?

Jax Chamberlin

Oh, where to begin. This beautiful, beautiful man comes from a completely different world than Lex. He is used to fame and fortune and doesn't want any of it.

Jax is the owner of Renegades, a firm specialising in stunts. He loves the thrill, the danger and quite frankly he is a little boy who likes to play.

After some private and business problems he is trying to focus on his work and the reputation of his company.
So, as his best friend would put it, meeting that girl at the airport is ‘not the right time’ for him, but what can you do?

“You could try fucking someone with a few morals for a change.”

Yeah, that would work...

Anyway. Here is what completely sold me on the book and almost set my kindle on fire. As mentioned above Lexi and Jax have a short meet at the airport, some heated looks were exchanged and they go their separate ways.

Cue in the happy and in my humble opinion unique twist:

Lexi is supposed to test a brand new cell phone app for her friend. An app that lets you anonymously contact people within your vicinity and our smart girl promptly uses it on Jax, who happens to be on her flight to New York.

Harmless flirting turns into heated sexting and the rest is history...well it's not quite that easy but I can assure you it is sexy as hell!

Go read and enjoy if you haven’t done that yet. I’m already on the second book..:D YAY, there is more.

“Reckless. God, she needed more of that in her life. Spontaneity. Passion. Freedom.”

...you and me both, girl!
