SANDY’S REVIEW

***4.5 strawberry stars***

“Who are the last people you think of before you die?
description
Those are the ones you loved the most.”
Skye, only heir to the billionaire and entrepreneur Warren Sedgewick is kidnapped from the parking lot just a day before of her birthday. She wakes up in a dark being extremely terrified, of not knowing where she is taken or why? The worst part is she has not seen her captor or had a chance to bargain for her life, except now it doesn’t matter as he points the gun to her head and the only thing she can do now is PRAY
“Dear Lord, bless my soul.
And watch over Dad.
And MaMaLu and Esteban.”
Damian is driven with thirst for vengeance and hell bent on killing Skye but the prayer she said just before he pulled the trigger practically saved her...for a while.

“One room, one bed, my captor sleeping next to me, night after night.”

As both of them bide their time, more and more secrets unravels, past seems to change the course of present and amongst the chaos, is falling for her captor acceptable?
“Loving Damian might destroy me,
but not loving him was killing me.”
Told from dual POV The Paper Swan is a heart-gripping story of vengeance, loss, healing, friendship, love and redemption.

My first from this author and I’m thoroughly surprised and awed by her writing. She totally put me in every scene she wrote and made me feel all sort of emotions along with the MC’s. Having not read any of this author’s book before, I read this one solely based on the blurb, it didn’t give much away but enough to invest my precious time in it. And what a beginning it was!!! Right from the page 1 till the end I was completely spell bounded by this story. [Yes! I finished it just under ONE day, while I’ve become that person who takes a week’s time to finish a book:(]

I LOVED everything about this one, be it the complex characters, the time leap or the constant transition between the past and present, childhood journey-everything was perfectly blended together to give a soul-touching, deep-feeling, passionate love story of a captive and her captor.
