Review: Fallen (Blood & Roses #4) by Callie Hart

Sloane

For over two years, Sloane Romera has pinned everything on finding Alexis. Life was going to get better. Easier. Happier. The nightmare of having a missing sister was supposed to end, and everything was supposed to go back to normal.

However, now that she’s found her sister, Sloane is discovering that life has a way of ridiculing what we expect of it.

Nothing is easier.

And ‘normal’ is falling for a man who might never be able to feel the same way.

***

Zeth

A lengthy history of breaking things with his fists has given Zeth Mayfair a fairly good idea of how to get his own way. But when his goal, the one, single woman on the face of the planet that he’s truly ever wanted, can only be obtained by fixing things instead of destroying them, how can he adjust a lifetime of violence in order to make her his once and for all? And how can he make sure that she is safe?

The first part is going to take time. But the second part…

The second part is easy.

He must kill Charlie Holsan.

MY REVIEW

Fallen by Callie Hart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 I'm in love with everything STARS

“Knew you couldn’t resist me,” he says softly. I can only laugh. “Against all the odds, no,” I admit. “I can’t.”“Then I’m a happy man, Dr. Romera,” he says, letting his eyelids sink closed for a moment. “Because from the moment I saw you…I haven’t stood a chance.”

Bloody Hell. You guys weren't kidding...things get INTENS!

Half the time I had no clue what was happening and the other half I was just power reading in the hopes to find some answers on the next page. Suffice it to say, this series gets better with every book and I believe Fallen is the best one, yet.

What a fantastic ride. At this point I can honestly say this is the most gripping and fast moving novella serial I've read. I love the characters, the danger, the crazy plot twists and most of all I love my still-on-my-fave-couple-shelf MVPs. Zeth and Sloane are bloody awesome!

“She didn't send me away. So now I'm with her. There's no room for any other option. There won't be any leaving her. There won't be any going back, or changing my mind or getting bored.”

But what I love the most are the small moments that happen in between all the big drama and mayhem plots.

When Zeth and Sloane have real conversations and just talk about their 'relationship' or if there is one to begin with. I love the honesty and I always smile when Zeth is wrong again predicting how she would react at any given moment.

It's really nicely done and the whole connection in spite of the situation feels very well developed.

“This is the turning point. This is where I stop holding back. This is where I become his.”

The ending was sweet, but also really frightening. I mean where do you go from here? (I was looking for a 'where do we go from here' Buffy gif - but no such luck) Anyway...

In closing I really have only one thing left to say:

I believe we are falling down the rabbit hole!

Send help! I'm going in...
