Title: Blurred Lines
Author: Lauren Layne
Series: Love unexpectedly #1
Genre: new adult, contemporary romance

In a novel that's perfect for fans of Abbi Glines and Jessica Sorensen, USA Today bestselling author Lauren Layne delivers a sexy take on the timeless question: Can a guy and a girl really be “just friends”?

When Parker Blanton meets Ben Olsen during her freshman year of college, the connection is immediate—and platonic. Six years later, they're still best friends, sharing an apartment in Portland's trendy Northwest District as they happily settle into adult life. But when Parker's boyfriend dumps her out of the blue, she starts to wonder about Ben's no-strings-attached approach to dating. The trouble is, even with Ben as her wingman, Parker can't seem to get the hang of casual sex—until she tries it with him.

The arrangement works perfectly . . . at first. The sex is mind-blowing, and their friendship remains as solid as ever, without any of the usual messy romantic entanglements. But when Parker's ex decides he wants her back, Ben is shocked by a fierce stab of possessiveness. And when Ben starts seeing a girl from work, Parker finds herself plagued by unfamiliar jealousy. With their friendship on the rocks for the first time, Parker and Ben face an alarming truth: Maybe they can't go back. And maybe, deep down, they never want to.

SANDY’S REVIEW

**3.85 more than just friends stars**

When I first read the blurb I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read this book! Why? Well, there are so many things that can go wrong with best friends to lovers troops, starting from the theme itself, you can guess all the elements going into this kind of premises; the misunderstandings, level of angst, jealously! and if things are done wrongly it’s doomed to go downhill. So with utmost faith in this author I dived in with my fingers crossed.

description

And guess what?! Lauren Layne never disappoints her readers! If you are acquainted with her writing you know this woman can take any simple/used plots and make it into a light, fun and enjoyable read. And Blurred Lines is exactly like that and much more.

Parker (yep, that’s a guy name) and Ben met in their freshman year orientation, from being a dorm mate to currently sharing an apartment, they have been BBF for 6 years now and are very much inseparable while proving whoever said that “a guy and a girl can never be just friends” wrong!. Even the strings of one night stands and long term boyfriend didn't alter their relationship one bit, be it their time together in the house or driving to and fro from work nothing ever changed between them.

That was until Parker got dumped by her boyfriend and now she’s after a casual fling but the problem is, she has no idea about being a flirt or seek a guy for hook ups. After little help from her girlfriend she finally gets better at it but she doesn’t want it to be with some random guy with whom she can’t be herself or have fun. That’s when she turns to her best friend who happens to be a pro in sex without any strings attached.

Both agree on this well because both are very attractive, basically live together and if it gets too weird they can still go back on being just friends without being awkward or worrying about hurting each other’s feeling right? Wrong! Not only things gets complicated but you also won’t be able to convey your feelings to one person who once was the only person you could confide on. That’s exactly what happened between the two when Parker’s boyfriend wanted her back and their emotions were all over the place.

The rest is predictable but with LL’s touch of magic and beautiful flow of the story, Blurred lines is packed with full of love laughter and complete heart-warming moments. At this point I can outright say that Lauren can never go wrong with her writing!
