Title: The Player and the Pixie
Author: L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid
Series: Rugby #2
Genre: new adult, contemporary romance
How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?
The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.
THE PIXIE
Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.
As the little sister of Ireland’s most infamous rugby player, Lucy can’t seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother’s frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she’s down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.
THE PLAYER
Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute… or so he’s been told. Frequently. By everyone.
His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world’s second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy’s big brother leave him cold. And when he’s cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.
THE PLAN
Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I’ll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world—and Lucy’s big brother in particular—that this is the real deal?
Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

FLO'S REVIEW
The Player and the Pixie by L.H. Cosway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 **hilariously unique** STARS
“I just like a good underdog story, that's all. Every stray deserves a chance for love.”
This book had an insane level of awesome. I can not believe Penny Reid and LH Cosway actually managed to live up to the first book in the series and then some. A year ago when I read The Hooker and the Hermit I had no idea the rest of 2015 would be spent catching up with all the books both authors had written on their own, and what a ride it has been. I’m so happy they finally gave us another colab.
It should come with no surprise that The Player and the Pixie landed on my favourites lists and pretty much stole my heart. I adored the cunning wit and flawed characters to no end. It was simply a delight to pick up this book and get lost for a little while. Together these gifted ladies are a force of nature. Utterly brilliant and highly entertaining.
Now The Player and the Pixie tells the story of Lucy Fitzpatrick and Sean Cassidy, two characters we first encountered in The Hooker and the Hermit.
“There was something inextricably enticing about the dichotomy of her. For a softly spoken fairy princess with a rainbow mane, she had a remarkably tart mouth.”
Lucy is Ronan's sister. She recently moved to New York to work with Annie on her gossip blog about the rich and famous. Lucy is independant, somewhat quirky and quite a bit damaged by her overbearing mother. Mrs. Fitzpatrick worships at the altar of the rugby playing superstar that is Ronan, but disapproves of every step Lucy takes in her life. As a result she has developed a rather rebellious attitude, rainbow coloured hair and a few slight unhealthy compulsions to cope with her anxiety.
“He was such a dunderhead; such a wonderful, sweet, funny, impossible, thoughtful, sexy eejit.”
Sean is Ronan’s team mate and he also happens to be his arch nemesis, the man who screwed Ronan’s ex-fiancee. A conceited, self-absorbed and arrogant arse. Sean Cassidy is very much the reason to pick up this book. He is unintentionally hilarious. His personality is a breath of fresh air. Haughty, self-righteous and charming. But I swear I couldn’t blame him for any of it. Like a big kid you have to take by the hand and explain life.
A chance encounter between Sean and Lucy gives him some blackmail material to pressure her into a dinner date and maybe a way in to screw some more with Ronan’s head. What sets out to be an opportunity fastly turns into a lot more. A painfully honest friendship and of course both are attracted to one another, warts and all. This is where the real hilarity ensues. Sean is absolutely horrendous in bed. Physique of an adonis, looks of a supermodel and boundless strength, but the poor guy doesn’t know how to handle a lady.
You know you want to read this, don’t you?
“Sean + Lucy = Spectacular.”
I simply adored this book. Just what I needed at the right time. The Player and the Pixie is light hearted read with three dimensional and severely flawed characters who complement each other even though, or maybe just because they are complete opposites. Both Lucy and Sean are exceptionally well written and make you crave for more.
If you need a fun and colourful escape from life for a day, do yourself a favour and give this series and especially this book a try.
That is all. Thank you for your time.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Penny Reid
SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).
By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.
