Release Blitz {ARC Review}: Appealed by Emma Chase

Title: Appealed
Author: Emma Chase
Series: The Legal Briefs #3
Genre: contemporary romance

When Brent Mason looks at Kennedy Randolph, he doesn’t see the awkward, sweet girl who grew up next door. He sees a self-assured, stunning woman…who wants to crush the most intimate - and prized - parts of his anatomy beneath the heels of her Christian Louboutins.

Brent has never let the loss of his leg in a childhood accident affect his ability to lead a fulfilling life. He sets high goals–and then he reaches them.

And now he has his sights set on Kennedy.
**
When Kennedy looks at Brent Mason, all she sees is the selfish, Abercrombie & Fitch catalogue-worthy teenager who humiliated her in high school to join the popular crowd. A crowd that made those years a living hell.

She’s not a lovesick social outcast anymore - she’s a DC prosecutor with a long winning streak behind her. Brent is the opposing attorney in her next case and she thinks it’s time to put him through a little hell of his own.

But things aren’t exactly working out that way.

Because every fiery exchange has her wondering if he’s as passionate in the bedroom as he is in the courtroom. Each argument and objection only makes him want her more. In the end, Brent and Kennedy may just find themselves in love…or in contempt of court.

APPEALED is a sexy, humorous romance about first crushes, second chances and the final verdict of the heart.

description

Emma chase does it again...nobody can write a witty and smart male POV like her!
“The ride is the only thing that makes the fall worth it.”

Brent Mason, an ambitious lawyer has it all - partner to a successful law firm and constantly surrounded by the loved one’s but he can’t deny the feeling of emptiness when he is alone at his mansion. Losing a leg in his childhood didn’t affect his ability to charm any woman or get into their pants, but none of these ladies could fill up the loneliness created a long time ago when the girl who grew up next door, his best friend and the one he fell in love with broke his heart or so he thinks. And now she has returned to his home town after fourteen long years.

Kennedy Randolph is back! Not as a timid awkward girl wearing baggy sweaters and glasses but a gorgeous, relentless, confident woman. This time when she meets Brent she’s not his long lost friend instead a federal prosecutor fighting against him in the court. Bitterness isn’t buried, misunderstanding still hovers over them but they can’t ignore the building sexual tension between them every time they argue in court. (I mean seriously, he has a boner every time she says objection!)

Brent wants a second chance with her, he can’t go back and change the horrid past which as a teenager he overlooked but he needs a do over to make it right for her, to stand by her and love her the way he was supposed to all those years ago. While, Kennedy is reluctant to let her guard down, Brent is dead set on winning her back.

Humours, thoughtful, off the charts hotness, perfect ending with beautiful epilogue is what made Appealed a delightful second chance romance for me. MC’s were well developed and written beautifully, Brent *sighs* a protective boyfriend, sometimes naughty and most of the times horny, also happens to have a comic book collection??! where were you all my life?? I couldn’t help but fall for him hard... Love the way Kennedy was transformed from shy to fire breathing dragon, the one who is not easily shaken unlike her younger self.

Brent and Kennedy’s story will definitely make you- laugh at their snarky comebacks,
“She looks me straight in the face.
“I could never be with someone like you-
you have the maturity of a twelve-year-old boy.”
I raise my glass. “And you have the chest of one.”

giggle at their bickering...
“What’d you do to your face?” she asks, folding her arms.
I touch my chin. “I grew a beard.”
“Well ungrow it. It looks like a vagina from a 1970s porn film.”

and swoon at their romance!
“When I look at you, think about you, I can’t decide if I want to fuck you, strangle you, or just hold you in my arms. Usually all three. And if that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”
